Palm Sunday Luncheon:
Plan to attend the Palm Sunday luncheon on Sunday, March 28th at 12:30
pm in the Church. The ticket price is $5.00 for adults, children eat for

Saturday of Lazarus: Following the Divine Liturgy (10:00 am) on
Saturday, March 27th there will be a communion breakfast and the
preparation of Palm Crosses. Please join us.
Events & Fundraising – Important Announcement: The Events &
Fundraising committee is looking for a Chairperson for our major
fundraiser – Battle at Marathon – slated to take place in October, 2010.

Ladies Auxiliary News: Thank you to all who have generously
offered their time and energy to decorate an Icon: Erini Redmond
(Annunciation March 19th), Mia Domingot (Nymphios, March 28th), Steve &
Pam Dafnis (The Wreath of Christ, Holy Thursday and Holy Friday), Niki
Fidopiastis, (The Crucifixion, Holy Thursday, April 1st) and Linda
Kollias (Anastasi for Holy Saturday, April 3rd ). The Ladies Auxiliary
is also looking for monetary donations for Pascha flowers and the banner
for Holy Saturday. If you are able to give, please mark your checks so
that we know your donation is intended for the flowers or banner. Thank
you.
Pascha Volunteers Needed: The Ladies Auxiliary needs six
volunteers to each dye three dozen eggs red for Holy Saturday. The dye
will be provided. Bakers are needed to make chocolate cake for the Palm
Sunday luncheon as well. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Fran

Sunday School News: Children, please plan to attend the Good
Friday Sunday School retreat at the Church on Friday, April 2nd. The
retreat will begin at 9:30 am and conclude at 1:30 pm. Student release
forms are available for those that need one. Please see Irene
Constantine for a form.
Movie Night! GOMSOC invites the children of the Parish to movie
night, on Saturday, March 20th. Details to follow.
Young Adult League (YAL): The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of
America is hosting a blog for young Orthodox Christians during the
Lenten season. “Into the Dessert is a 40 day blog designed to motivate,
challenge and inspire young people to grow in Christ during the Lenten

Parish Council News: The Parish Council is looking for people
interested in Board leadership. If you are interested in becoming
involved and serving your Church in a greater capacity, please contact

Prime Timers: Penny Marutsos will personally prepare, in her
kitchen, a special post-Pascha feast on Thursday, April 8th at 12:30 pm.
The price of the lunch is $12.00. Come, help us celebrate Christ’s Holy
Resurrection. Everyone is welcome. You don’t want to miss this luncheon!

Greek Folk Dance for Kids: We will be starting a new group of young dancers that will begin
practicing on a weekly basis after Pascha, with the intention of
participating in the exhibition group (Division III) at FDF 2010. We are
currently exploring the interest level children ages 5-7 years old. For

Adult Greek Dance Classes: A unique, fun, fast paced Adult
Beginner’s Greek Dance class is beginning Thursdays in the month of
March at 6:30 pm in Aliso Viejo. Eight popular Greek dances will be
learned by the end of the class including popular variations, some
history, some mythology, and some soul of the dances. The class is four
weeks long meeting once a week. Each session will stand on its own
without having to have attended a previous class.
The classes are a re-incarnation of highly popular classes previously
held at St Sophia, Signal Hill, and St Spyridon in San Diego with up to
fifty people in the classes. Many of the groupies that you see at all of
the Greek Festivals were graduates of these classes.
